Improving Local Government Transparency - Consultation

Details were given of a consultation paper from the Department for Communities and Local Government entitled "Improving Local Government Transparency". The paper covered a range of issues and set out detailed questions in respect of information to be shown about land and assets. It was noted that a number of officers would be involved in preparation of a response and, due to the tight timescale involved, a mechanism was suggested for meeting the consultation deadline of 20 December 2012.

The Cabinet resolved that:
Authority be delegated to the Director of Finance to respond to the consultation in liaison with the Leader and the Cabinet Members for Finance and Innovation and Service Delivery.

Reasons: As set out in the report of the Director of Finance.
